Who I am now: I no longer call myself a christian or Jesus follower. The aftermath of the 2016 elections accelerated my deconstruction journey and I have formally walked away from all forms of christianity. I've come out as a Lesbian, continued to pursue my painting, and generally I am content with my life. I will retire from Real Estate in 2026 and marry the love of my life later that year. Who I used to be: I thought I was called to be a radical follower of Jesus, I trained to become a spiritual director through CFDM. As a follower of Jesus, I wanted to reflect his heart to those around me, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation. I hope I succeeded at that. In 2015 I founded Blue Ocean Faith Columbus, an inclusive church in Columbus, Ohio where I served as lead pastor from October of 2015 - December 2018. Some things that don't change: I have two amazing adult sons, two delightful grandchildren, and I am owned by two cats. I'm a square peg, a bit eccentric, and comfortable with who I am.
